CambsCuisine is a group of six restaurants and an event dining operation in Cambridgeshire. We are delighted that the Crown & Punchbowl has once again become part of the CambsCuisine group. We’re taking a moment to decide how best to develop this delightful country inn and restaurant.
In the meantime though, we've introduced a new menu based on the food we know and love. Head Chef at The Cock, Wil Findlay, is overseeing the new menu, bringing with him some classic, much-loved dishes which have seen The Cock win 'Cambridgeshire Dining Pub Of The Year' (Good Pub Guide) 8 times in the past 11 years. We've also added a lunch-time set menu (£13 for 2 courses, £17 for 3 courses) available Monday-Friday.
Great food, a new wine list and a roaring fire make The Crown & Punchbowl well worth a visit. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
The Crown & Punchbowl is a quaint country pub and inn on the outskirts of Cambridge. Adjacent to the church of St. Peter, whose chancel dates back to around 1220, The Crown & Punchbowl was originally an old coaching inn constructed at some point in the 17th century, but not officially recorded until 1764.
The building, which has been extended periodically, retains many of its original features and nestles amongst surrounding farmhouses. Inside a series of brick fireplaces and original beams spread throughout the building adding to its rustic charm.
